Anaitis - 2012 ecoFAB Trash Couture

450.00

I made four dresses for our 2012 event, the competition is fierce and the creations are stunning. This is the second of my four dresses, "Anaitis"

Anaitis is made in two pieces, plus the hat and the various accessories. The top has an accordion folded front, the side pannels are crisscross stitched to it and the back is open. the shoulder straps are crisscrossed stitched to the front and the "backless back the waistband is what keeps it all in place. You slip the top by sliding your arms into the sleeves and tying the back waistband with a cotton loop around a coiled paper button.

the skirt is a pleated catalogue sewn onto the waistband and it closes in front with the same principle as the top, a cotton yarn loop around a hand made coiled button. Simple design yet stunning.

the hat is made from recycled magazine, rolled and flattened strips glued in an upward spiral desigh, two large coils are glued to the side holding down five strips of to give it the great design. the hat can be worn anytime, any day, with or without the dress.

Anaitis was by far the easier of my dresses to assemble, yet I am discarding or minimizing the skill factor that takes to make an outfit, let alone an outfit out of recycled materials and make it an easy wearl. Anaitis it is very durable and very functional as you can see the model wore it with ease and fluidity and it is amazingly sturdy. This event has been so exciting that my group of friends and I will be returning every year and try, best we can to outdo ourselves. Follow us on www.passportforfashion.com to see when are the next shows.

I welcome commission work, if you like this outfit I can make one to fit your size. all I need is four weeks time.
