Simple Illusion - Recycled magazine paper coil assemblage sculpture

Simple Illusion - named such because of the three dimensionality accentuated by the light at play throughout this sculpture. the base is surrounded by thorns symbolizing the struggle most beautiful things rise from. This sculpture took one month of intense labor to create and it was inspired by the natural progression of things, while working on one vessel/sculpture, the next one starts formulating in my head, to counter the direction I am headed in and the constant question that lives in my mind, What If… What if I grow the sculpture outward instead of inward, what if I create my next piece with an open side revealing and exposing the base which I will create with floating coils, trapped in resin. What if I stack some of them to give it more depth… Love exploring my endless possibilities and love how far I can take my curiosity.
