Warmth in Cold Weather - acrylic mix media

Warmth in Cold Weather is my all sustainable, salvaged and recycled canvas board I made from scraps collected from a woodworking shop. I have been building my own canvas boards for a long time and ended up with bits and pieces of wood. When I finished collaging the wood bits, it struck me how beautiful the wood alone looked and I couldn't bare to cover it up with paper and Gesso. I already had this woodsy landscape idea in mind and the natural look of the wood lends itself as the perfect background. Being a paper manipulator I am also a crazy collector of all paper waste, magazines, flyers, printed and non printed, other artists waste. I lucked out and found this amazing deep red paper in the waste paper basket at the same wood shop. Warmth in Cold Weather stands for that sense of warmth you feel when you see the golden hews of the wood paired with the rich red of the autumn leaves.
