Birdseye

1,012.00

Birdseye is my first complete green, ecofriendly painting, this is another one of my favorite pieces, all acrylic open paints mixed with clear tar gel to give it that full body oil paint feel.

I built the frame from scraps of wood that I have laying around from our house repairs and wood that is given to me by friends instead of taking it to the dump. I used one of my mother's raw silk pleated skirt she had given me instead of canvas and painted directly on it. The Raw silk hadn't been bleached or treated and there are particles in the weave that I wanted too use as part of the painting, if you look at the back you can totally see the coarseness and the silk.
