As an artist we have to make ends meet in many ways for art alone rarely takes care of it all. If you happen to be a single mom artist that becomes a tortuous endeavor. We have to adapt and work harder than most in order to pursue our dreams. My day jobs are: painting homes, anywhere from interior flat walls, trims and more to decorative wall designs and murals, to sculpted stone interior and exterior. I am proud of all my works.
2D mural of Midrex's foundry in Egypt
For this plant we opted to do more of a tromp l'oeil than a 2D mortar due to the intricacy of the factory guts and not anticipating exactly what was required. We had a general idea and luckily we opted to do a tromp vs. a mortar 2D because we ended up having to alter many details on pipes and conveyor belts and add drums to render the idea.

2D rendition of a MiDrex plant
Midrex is an iron pellet manufacturing company, they have plants all over the globe. They wanted a two dimensional rendition of their very first plant in their lunch/teaching room; this is a mix 2D and trompe l'oeil mortar/paint rendition of it.

My oasis - Private beach
a sweet customer, seeking a bit of solace in his own living room, commissioned me to paint a this private beach on his 18' wide, 7' tall den wall. He already had sketches drawn out, and a bullet list of all he wanted on the mural. Here it is. He was ecstatic!

Chirdren's Waiting room at the DA's office
the Charlotte criminal Justice Court room has a waiting room for the children involved in criminal cases. There they wait to be called to testify against their oppressor. They are already terrified and traumatized. The room was a regular room, the DA and the staff felt they could bring a bit of respite or take the children's mind off the upcoming trial by giving them a lovely room to sit and wait. They called on the only artist they knew and she brought her village to create this safe haven for the children in Charlotte.
